Google, WiFi, SF
Google, WiFi, SF: Om Malik: "Google is making a bid to build a San Francisco-wide free wifi network, according to company officials. The company today filed documents in response to San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom’s request for information for the city wide network." I don't know if these documents were publicly filed and inspectable... nothing at Google Press Center yet. There's a quote from Google staffer Chris Sacca, who also has his own weblog. Om also links to a previous article on the Google VPN client. On a foggy day in Golden Gate Park you can still get good contrast on a laptop screen.... ;-)

Reuters and Wall Street Journal offer confirming stories today, although none seem to say how they know what they say they know.
