Hotpads.com

HotPads.com Mapper I caught this link in a GeekNews opinionfest... the site combines mapping and real estate data, so that you can find a given dwelling in a given range in a given area.

I was surfing www.hotpads.com too- I think that that site is awesome... It is so easy to use and you can find places based on where you work or whatever you want.

I found HotPads.com while trying to find an apartment. I was on one of the other find rental sites and saw this thing about HotPads. I was really surprised at how much more I found on this site. Thank You, you made my finds alot easier.

I got spammed on myspace by one of the company's founders. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and checked out the site. The interface is poorly designed and pretty klunky. I didn't find the building icons helpful (they're ugly too). Response is very slow due to the large bitmaps it has to download.

I'll stick with regular HTML and text searches. They're faster, less cumbersome, and easier to use. Flash-based websites are never a favorite of mine. Flash may sound cool, but in the end, it's all for show and people don't adopt.
