New names
New names: The company name changed today... the above link goes to a revised FAQ with new info. I've also temporarily changed the blog name to "JD on [TBD]"... "JD on MX" worked when we were trying to unite clientside and serverside processing in RIAs, but it has been a little dated for awhile now. Not sure what to rename it yet... ideas? I also put a "TBD" in the "employed by" field in the blog description, because technically Macromedia is no more, and Adobe offer letters will be arriving over the next week... there's a lot of internal discussion the next two weeks, so please don't be surprised if there's not a lot of staff comment for awhile. The new company also announced new bundles today, for general design, web, and video. I understand that there are new factsheets and company profiles up on the website too, but I'm not sure of HTML versions yet.

John, I'd think you'd want to keep your name in it, as I just searched for your name and "blog" to get here.
On another note, I think many of us are more than a little alarmed that Adobe may opt to keep GoLive instead of Dreamweaver. I haven't seen any comments yet about that (and am glad I took my own advice months ago -- whatever you're going to buy, buy it now). Any news on this front?

Well I do not think Adobe may opt to keep GoLive instead of Dreamweaver. Like Dreamweaver is the market leader it will be kind of dumn to do that...
Ok but there is almost no hope for Freehand and Fireworks ..... :(

John, has the company name outside the building been switched yet? I was thinking of stopping by and snapping a pic of 'Macromedia' if it's still there.

I just ran outside and checked... 12:20 pm PST it's still "macromedia", no sign of any sign guys in sight. Should be safe for an afternoon photo, and after you've got that evidence I guess you could file a bug on the version mismatch.... ;-)
(Friday evening I was waiting for some friends outside, after some of the inside-the-building parties, and tried to pry off a letter or two with my handy pocket-tool set... no go, those letters are wedged in solid, they'll probably need epoxy-dissolvers or something to get them out. I'm looking forward to typing five fewer letters each time.... ;-)
