Booty Call
Booty Call: uh, this can't be right... "the first feature-length film made in Macromedia Flash" is titled "Jake's Booty Call"? Somehow I was hoping for something with a little more dignity, some gravitas, a title which would stand for the ages.... ;-)
Update: I've closed comments, for obvious reasons. I haven't felt the need to do that often, but I'm sure there are fanboards out there where you can affect low-class language to your heart's content.

That piece of crap was made years ago. It was a spin-off of a game series at romp.com. It was produced by the son of ex-Disney CEO Michael Eisner, funnily enough. Not exactly a Disney 'toon.
I have my doubts about it being made entirely in Flash. I think they initially started it in Flash, but moved onto AfterEffects (or the like) part-way through production. As lame as it sounds, I think the "the first feature-length film made in Macromedia Flash" bit was the best hype generating line they could come up with - and it took 4 years for some nerd to bite.

Actually, no.
It isn't "the first feature-length film made in Macromedia Flash" It is surprising that there would even be an attempt to market it as such for a couple of reasons.
One, Eric Eisner--see Joey's comment above for his parentage-- produced "Li'l Pimp" which was supposedly "the first feature-length film made in Macromedia Flash." The only caveat is that it never made it to the big screen. Instead it ended upon DVD-only. So, Eisner should know better.
Two, there was another feature-length film animated in Flash which actually was shown in theaters. The movie was called "The Golden Blaze." It was a very limited showing in a couple of festivals and a West Coast theater chain showed it as a part of a weekend matinee for kids. It also won an Italian film award of some sort last year.
It is distributed by Warner Bros. Home Video and is on Amazon for purchase.
For what it is worth, the title "Jake's Booty Call" isn't so surprising given Eisner's "Li'l Pimp" venture.
Thanks for the blog, btw.

Now that I think about it, "The Golden Blaze" is like the anti- "Lil Pimp" in so many ways. As I noted above, the film was shown part of a matinee series of kids films. Nothing Eisner Junior has made can be marketed to kids.
Cheers.

romp dot com cashed out. Good for them. The only thing I didn't like was how they sold my friggin email address to the spammers.
How do I know? I've been getting PE spams to my romp@mydomian.com email addy for years now.

The Romp tried to make some cash and no pr*ck supported them. Those eps were dope. Coach Bigot was mad, Officer Krupt was a great concept too.. The website went paid subscription and everyone went "fug dat!"
A review I have read of the movie was obviously written by someone who had never played an episode of Jakes Booty Call; they had no appreciation for it and said *bleh* overall.
I think thats what Eisner and co were banking on. People who had actually played the games online would surely get into the movie.. I dunno how it didnt happen.. Dunno about you but I still wanna see it.. It should be funny as!
Oh yeah, the DVD is kinda in limbo at the moment. It is available for a company to aquire and release to the public. Any companies who come upon this site somehow, contact http://www.nationallampoon.com dangit! I have been emailing around and that's what I know.
You can play plenty of romp.com's content at http://outer.reaches.dyndns.org - PCBoard Forums

The Romp was the only website that I ever paid a subscription for. I loved it. And just a few weeks after I paid for a year, it went bust/under/away depending on the story.
Does anybody know what happened to the Cooties creators? I don't think they worked for Romp, and I was wondering if they created any new stuff.
Five years later, the Romp still remains the funniest thing I have ever seen on the 'net. I really miss it.
