DW802 updater
DW802 updater: Yesterday's release contains two major changes: revisions to OBJECT/EMBED tag-writing to make the new version of Internet Explorer happy; and a security change to rule out code injection when you're using server behaviors to communicate with a data server. In addition to the release notes' advice on CD installations and not mixing installation languages, there's also some new advice on not cancelling the update installation mid-stream; if you do need to cancel, then the existing Dreamweaver installation will be in a mixed state and you'd need to reinstall the whole app before attempting to update it again. There is also work being done to check against the range of third-party extensions involving server behaviors, and the Dreamweaver Emerging Issues technote seems like it will be the place where best news first arrives.

Any word when Flash will be updated so that the files that it Publishes work with the new IE?
[jd sez: I held off on reply because I wanted to search Mike Downey's blog and other team members, to see if there's public guidance anywhere on this "recent IE changes" issue. I don't have anything yet, but I'll keep looking and update back here if I find a group guidance, a date or other public commitment.]
