IE7 name change
IE7 name change: MS staffer says it will be called "IE7+", or "Internet Explorer 7+". I guess they want us to refer to it in conversation like this: "Tested in >=IE7+". No idea if next version will be called "IE7++". The commenters make the points you'd expect. At least it's not called "IE7+MX" eh...? ;-) [link fixed]

It will be called IE7+ only on Vista, the version for windows xp and windows server will be IE7. There are features in the vista version that aren't in the IE7.

MS loves the '+'. asp.net was originally called asp+. Not that it matters - I have doubts about Vista ever making it onto a shelf at Comp USA anyway.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but you're linking to an Adobe support article (http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/329781.html) instead of the IEBlog post (http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/05/26/608255.aspx)

Jeff

I would assume the "plus" in IE7+ would refer to all the extra third party code (viruses, spyware, mysterious new tool bars) you'll be enjoying soon after using the product.

After using a couple IE7 betas, I don't think a Vista-only IE7+MX2006Professional (IE+MX2K5Pro for short) version is going to convince anyone to upgrade to Vista.
It's a catch-up version to make up for years of development neglect. It's not bad, but it's not offering anything likely to sway users back from Firefox or Opera.
