Georgenes interview

Georgenes interview: At WebProNews, Scott Chappell talks with animator Chris Georgenes about, not just Flash animation, but about using tools and technologies until your own recognizable approach develops. There's a good story at the end about simplicity and authenticity outweighing grand efforts. There are tidbits about corporate use of engagement techniques (avatars to represent the company), the great swell tide towards pocket computing, and secrets of his work with popstar Nelly. I think some of Chris's conclusions apply to straight coding as well: "Whenever I set out to create something new and unique, it never happened. I've learned that style can't be forced; it will expose itself in time if you dedicate yourself to experimenting long enough. I approach Flash as if it is a ball of clay, pushing and pulling it into what I want."
