Adobe License Manager
Adobe License Manager: This program went public last week, but it doesn't affect most of us at all... the Adobe License Manager is available for volume-license deployments, so that people in institutional settings can share licenses while administrators can check that they've licensed what they're using. It's distinct from the serial-authentication methods called activation used on retail sales. The ALM is starting with Acrobat 8, but does not yet work with Adobe Creative Suite and other tools... more info in FAQ. It was discussed on Ed Foster's InfoWorld-affiliated Gripeline today, and may get picked up by other sources from here... the licensing manager is for volume sales, though, and won't have any effect for most of us.
