Web apps, Japan

Web apps, Japan: With help from local content experts, Richard MacManus analyzes some of the top web services used in Japan. At the bottom of this page he has links to prior collections available on other cultures. The rapid connectivity of network communication is very new to humans, and different groups will help us understand different parts of it... getting a good overview of different approaches is a good hidden advantage in making better apps ourselves, I think. Good stuff here. (Unrelated, but Richard has another article on populations of popular services, and the total number of people invested in Friendster or Facebook is just about the total audience Adobe Flash Player 9 adds in a single day... the Flash universe grows scads more quickly than the social-software universe.)
