Politics and tech
Politics and tech: Don't seem to mix too well. Here, a blogging conference had a keynote from a French presidential candidate, and many were offended (sample, links). Part of it may be partisan, but I'd feel the same about Al Gore... someone's always excluded. Politics is about rewriting the rules to benefit the few, while technology is about transcending the rules to benefit the many... different games, don't seem to mix too well.

On reading further, it seems like this blogging event hosted multiple politicians, with a full media corps: "The media presence has expanded vastly. The hall is filled with photographers, TV cameras, reporters and, bizarrely, what appears to be a commentary box." The blogging conference was apparently seen as a useful venue to hold the Tuesday press story, a "we get the web" spot in the campaign cycle.
It would have been good if the politicians' speeches had more interactivity, though....
