Viacom goes FlashCast
Viacom goes FlashCast: MTV, Comedy Central, VH1 and other Viacom programs already use Flash Lite for mobile delivery. In Barcelona this week they're showing previews of full instant-access channels with the Adobe FlashCast publishing system -- instead of navigating and waiting to download before viewing, a FlashCast subscription trickles in updates in the background so you've always got the latest rich content, no waiting. Viacom deployment is expected "later this year", and I don't see info in this press release about whether it's a regional service, or a global service. [via Mariam Dholkawala]
