MS HD View

MS HD View: Microsoft is demoing a browser plugin for gigapixel imagery at a conference this week... it's getting some attention in weblogs and news. But the FAQ notes that it's an "only in IE" experience -- doncha just hate that? Fortunately that FAQ also points to even larger gigapixel projects, already existing, which work across browsers... this 8.6 gigapixel image currently seems to be the world's largest, and uses a nice, friendly, browser-neutral OS-neutral production process and viewing technology... John Nack has more.

Would love to hear your usability focused feedback on these experiences. I love to see software be the best it can be...
Thanks, Rob
