Web improvements

Web improvements: Titled "7 Things you don't see in Web 2.0 from Web 1.0", this essay cites: (1) "best viewed in X browser" warnings; (2) no need to ask "Get Flash Player" anymore; (3) the reduction in TABLE-driven HTML layouts; (4) HTML splash screens; (5) SWF splash screens; (6) "loading" displays; (7) fixed-width HTML layouts and forced window-resizings. Comments are lengthy, and add background music and other annoyances, and two commenters mention there are still impolite SWF sites, but it's remarkable how the overall perception has changed the past few years.
