2007 hype
2007 hype: At PCWorld, Dan Tynan lists together many items which received popular acclaim at launch, but which did not deliver on expectations. If an established company makes a promise, then we should definitely pay attention to what they say, but looking back over 2007 proves that not all predictions come to pass. (On Adobe's part, we haven't released a 1.0 of the SWF/Ajax/PDF integrated runtime, but it's close, and I'm glad the company took the extra time to get things right with this new delivery channel. Creative Suite 3 was Adobe's big deliverable this year, and this massive undertaking to merge the Macromedia and Adobe toolsets therefore (and thankfully!) did not make the PCWorld list.)
