still trying to understand HOW to subscribe to RSS feeds
unlike podcasts where there is an obvious "subscribe" button, i see nothing on this site to allow me to similarly subscribe, anyone care to point out the obvious?

using Firefox, copy the link that points to the RSS feed. Go to Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks and there File > New Live Bookmark and paste the link there

Of course, a preferred technique would be to use an RSS reader. Newsgator for Windows or Netnewswire for Mac.
Once installed, then use your RSS reader to input this URL.

If you're using Safari, just click the "RSS" in the location bar and bookmark the page that pops up.

Hey, when i download the mac beta 4 link, it only downloads a 472kb file called : lightroom_b4_standalone_09-25-1.dmg
Then when I launch it a window comes up that says: The following disk images failed to mount: lightroom_b4_standalone_09-25-1.dmg ....Reason: no mountable file systems.
What the hell!!! This is a little ridiculous. I just switched to mac, I'm on a Mac book Pro 17"
I cleared the cache in both browsers, emptied the trash, restarted and the same thing happens all over each time.
This NEVER happened in Win XP and I've installed thousands of programs.
there is scant info out there in google land as to a solution to this so any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Brian,
This error is caused by a problem on our end. We are working on correcting the bits ASAP.

Thanks.

When I login, I'm getting Page Does Not Exist as I'm trying to download Beta 4 of Lightroom. :(
Posted by: Kelly at September 25, 2006 09:41 PM
The download errors for the Mac and Win standalone bits has been resolved.
The page does not exist error should go away if you clear your cache, return to the Labs home page, and follow the links to download Lightroom.

Disk Image still fails to mount on Intel Mac OS 10.4.8 Sat 10:17 EST. Got some of that magic Adobe Viagara to help me mount this thing? Looking forward to seeing V4....liking V3 very much.

Hi Xavier,
This is not the new version of Photoshop. This is a new software product that is under the Photoshop family of products.

I was thrilled when I first downloaded Lightroom but after loading in a fragment of my library it now will not run, crashes and freezes before anything can even be clicked... all while slowing my fast editing station to a crawl. So disappointing.

Can not download Beta 4 - error message = can not find the file on the server at the download URL. Is this a problem at your end?
Posted by: Chris at October 6, 2006 03:32 PM
Hi Chris,
We cannot reproduce this error. What platform and download version (standalone or sample content) are you attempting to pull down? Please see if you can download other Lightroom beta 4 downloads or downloads from other Labs releases.

Didn't notice the beta 4 attends only Win XP and other (?). When a release for win 2000 will be available, if so?

Hi G,
I just spoke with the product teams and they mentioned that there are no current plans to provide Windows 2000 support for Lightroom.

Everything worked out perfectly, the download of Adobe Lightroom Beta 4 and then editing, operation,....great stuff.
Congratulation to the Adobe Team.

I would like to use lightroom, but it does not even install on Windows 2000 ! So I'll stick to Silkypix, I don't understand, that's the 1st soft I even try which simply REFUSE to install on windows 2000 !
I don't plan to upgrade to XP my P4-3Ghz/1GigRam machine which work perfectly well on all other softs of the creation, BUT lightroom ... What for ?
