BrowserLab provides web designers exact renderings of their web pages in multiple browsers and operating systems, on demand. BrowserLab is a powerful solution for cross-browser compatibility testing, featuring multiple viewing and comparison tools, as well as customizable preferences. Since BrowserLab is an online service, it can be accessed from virtually any computer connected to the web. Camera Raw 5.4 Release Candidate Available on Labs

The Camera Raw 5.4 plug-in provides easy access within Photoshop to the raw image formats produced by many leading professional and midrange digital cameras. The ‘release candidate’ label indicates that the plug-in is well tested but would benefit from additional community testing before it is distributed automatically to all of our customers. The Camera Raw team would like the community to help verify the quality of the plug-in through normal usage as this will ensure that the plug-in is tested on a diversity of hardware and software configurations not available internally at Adobe.

The Text Layout Framework team is now releasing new builds on a regular basis. Visitors to the download page will now find new builds made available (almost) every Friday. So far, two non-milestone builds have been posted with more to come in the weeks that follow.

Pixel Bender Prerelease 6 Released on Labs

The sixth prerelease of Adobe Pixel Bender (version 1.5) is now available for download on Adobe Labs. Pixel Bender is an image and video processing infrastructure with runtime optimization on heterogeneous hardware.

Adobe Pixel Bender prerelease 6 (version 1.5) expands on previous releases with the ability to create, compile, and preview Pixel Bender graphs in the Pixel Bender IDE. Prerelease 6 continues to support Pixel Bender filter processing in Adobe After Effects™ CS4, Flash Player 10 and Photoshop CS4.

Hub Released on Labs

Hub is a client Adobe AIR application that connects to Adobe LiveCycle ES services for the purpose of generating PDFs or assembling different PDFs into packages. It demonstrates how to connect a client desktop to LiveCycle ES services using Adobe Flex Remoting. The drag-and-drop client interface allows the user to upload files, watch the progress and retrieve the content back to the desktop with a single gesture. Hub was developed in response to customer requests for a client connector to Adobe LiveCycle ES.

XMP Library for ActionScript Released on Labs

The new Adobe XMP Library for ActionScript is now available for download on Adobe Labs. Adobe Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) is a labeling technology that allows you to embed data about a file, known as metadata, into the file itself. XMP is an open technology based on RDF and RDF/XML. With this new library you can read existing XMP metadata from Flash based file formats via the Adobe Flash Player.

Ads for Adobe PDF Removed from Labs

The Adobe Ads for PDF Beta Program is no longer accepting new applicants and the Program completes on March 31, 2009. For this reason, the technology has been removed from Labs.
