Adobe Media Player Prerelease 2 Released on Labs

Adobe Media Player brings the best of both the broadcast television and web video worlds to your desktop. This second prerelease version includes a new UI, many new features, and compatibility with the latest Adobe AIR beta 3 runtime. Flex Builder Linux Alpha 2 Released on Labs

The second prerelease of Adobe Flex Builder Linux, an Eclipse plugin version of the Flex Builder software that you can use to build Flex applications on Linux, is now available for download on Adobe Labs. This new version of the software includes more of the great features in Flex Builder 3 and improvements on features found in the initial alpha release.

Adobe AIR Update for Flash CS3 Professional Beta 3 Released on Labs

To coincide with the release of Adobe AIR beta 3, the Adobe Flash Professional team has released a refresh of the Adobe AIR Update for Flash CS3 Professional. This software allows you to package and preview .air files directly within Flash CS3 Professional and includes added compatibility for Adobe AIR beta 3.

BlazeDS Beta Released on Labs

The first public release of BlazeDS is now available as a beta from Adobe Labs.

BlazeDS is the server-based Java remoting and web messaging technology that enables developers to easily connect to back-end distributed data and push data in real-time to Adobe Flex and Adobe AIR applications for more responsive rich Internet application (RIA) experiences.

Previously available only as part of Adobe LiveCycle Data Services ES, Adobe is announcing its plans to contribute the proven BlazeDS technologies to the community under the LGPL v3. BlazeDS gives the rapidly growing Adobe developer community free access to the powerful remoting and messaging technologies developed by Adobe.

The source code will be available for download in early 2008.

kuler Desktop for Adobe AIR Beta 3 Released on Labs

The kuler desktop has been updated to support the latest Adobe AIR beta release and is now available from Adobe Labs.

Adobe AIR Extension for Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 Beta 3 Released on Labs

A new version of the Adobe AIR extension for Dreamweaver CS3 is now available from Adobe Labs.

This extension allows you to package and preview .air application files directly within Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 – leveraging your existing web development skills to build desktop-enabled distributed applications and experiences with the Adobe AIR framework.

Beta 3 is compatible with the new Adobe AIR beta 3 release.

Flex 3 Beta 3 Released on Labs

Beta 3 of Adobe Flex 3 is now available from Adobe Labs.

Flex 3 is a cross platform, open source framework for creating rich Internet applications that run identically in all major browsers and operating systems.

As part of this beta, new versions of the Flex SDK and Flex Builder have been released.

Adobe AIR Beta 3 Released on Labs

The third beta release of Adobe Air is now available for download from Adobe Labs.

Adobe AIR lets developers use their existing web development skills in HTML, AJAX, Flash and Flex to build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop.

Beta 3 includes the following new features:

Applications built on Adobe AIR Beta 3 can register to run at start-up/log-in.
Web Launcher provides the ability to detect and launch an installed AIR application from a web browser.
Support for H.264 video and Advanced Audio Coding (AAC).
Full Screen Hardware acceleration.
Flash within HTML Support allows Flash content to be integrated within HTML based applications.
Adobe AIR also supports automatic runtime updates, similar to how Adobe Flash Player can be updated.
Thawte (http://www.thawte.com/) offers an Adobe AIR developer certificate, so developers can certify applications built on Adobe AIR are from a trusted source.
Support for the Mac OSX Leopard operating system.

Brio Beta Released on Labs

The next generation of Adobe Acrobat Connect—codenamed "Brio"—is now available to try via the Adobe Labs website. Brio is a web meeting service built with collaboration in mind for individual professionals and small businesses. With Brio, you can instantly communicate and collaborate through an easy-to-use, easy-to-access online personal meeting room.

Adobe Flash Player 9 Update for Solaris Released on Labs

H.264 video support has been introduced to the Solaris version of Adobe Flash Player 9. Preview the new H.264 video and HE-AAC audio support and other enhancements in this beta for Solaris, now available on Adobe Labs.

Adobe Flash Player 9 Update for Macintosh, Windows, and Linux Now Shipping

The final, shipping versions of the Adobe Flash Player 9 update with support for H.264 video is now available from Adobe.com. The latest release of Flash Player 9 supports Macintosh, Windows, and Linux platforms. See the online system requirements for more information.

Adobe Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition Released on Labs

A Developer Edition of Flash Lite 3 is now available from Adobe Labs. Adobe Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition is a standalone player for supported mobile phones to allow developers to test their Flash Lite 3 applications before commercial devices start shipping with the full version of Flash Lite 3 pre-installed. This installer only supports standalone content and cannot be used to view SWF files that are embedded in a mobile web browser or to test any type of personalization content such as wallpapers or screensavers.

This version of the Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition is not locked to the serial number of the device, you don't have to provide your IMEI number to download the installer. This installer has a startup screen indicating that it is the Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition. Devices that will ship with Flash Lite 3 pre-installed will not have this start up screen in their standalone players.
Why a Labs release?

Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition is prerelease technology and not the final version of the Flash Lite 3 player that device manufacturers will port for shipping devices. Not all features are complete and the technology is still considered in development.

Ads for Adobe PDF Released on Labs

Adobe, in cooperation with Yahoo!, has announced the release of a preview of a free service that enables you to earn money by including ads in your PDF content. Ads for Adobe PDF is now available through Adobe Labs.

The early preview of this technology will be limited to only a few users, but we will be accepting more and more PDF content providers over time. Apply to participate in the program and start making money from your PDF content.

Adobe Premiere Pro Update for Intel SSE4.1 Released on Labs

Today a preview of the Adobe Premiere Pro Update for Intel SSE4.1 was released on Adobe Labs. This optional update is meant to be a preview of the optimization work that is currently under development for the next release of Premiere Pro.

Lightroom 1.3 Export SDK Preview Released on Labs

In conjunction with the release of the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.3 update on Adobe.com, a new Lightroom Export SDK is now available for download from Adobe Labs. This public prerelease provides a Software Development Kit that will allow developers to enable communication from the Lightroom 1.3 Export Dialog to third party tools, web sites or devices.
