TattleTale: Macromedia News on Your Desktop
TattleTale gives you a quick and easy way to keep up with Macromedia news, right on your desktop. When there's a new post on a Macromedia weblog, or an update to one of the Macromedia Product XML Feeds, TattleTale will alert you politely and unobtrusively.
TattleTale monitors the following information:
- All Macromedia weblogs
- Security bulletins for most Macromedia products
- Tech notes for most Macromedia products
- Important product announcements
- The Macromedia Developer Center
Platform Support
TattleTale is still in beta, but there are three very functional preview versions available: Windows (.NET), Macintosh, and a Java version which will run on just about any platform with Java 1.4 support. You can see screenshots of all three versions below:

Installing TattleTale
Windows Installation
- If you don't already have the .NET runtime installed, you will need to download and install it first.
- Download the preview version of TattleTale for Windows.
- Unzip the TattleTale zip file.
- Double-click on the TattleTale setup application to install TattleTale.
Macintosh Installation
- Download the preview version of TattleTale for Mac OS X.
- Unzip the TattleTale zip file.
- Drag the TattleTale application to your Applications folder, or wherever you would like to keep it.
- Double-click on the TattleTale application to start it.
- You can set TattleTale to automatically start on OS X by adding it to System Preferences > Accounts > ACCOUNTNAME > Startup Items Tab.
Java Version
- If you don't already have Java 1.4 or higher installed, download and install it first.
- Download the preview version of TattleTale for Java.
- If your platform supports it, you can just double-click on the TattleTale jar file.
- You can also start TattleTale from the command line with the command "java -jar TattleTaleJava.jar".
