Mobile Elearning Example

Check out this mobilized study aid for American Sign Language (ASL) Finger Spelling. Robert Hall of Talisman Interactive created it for the PDA a while back and graciously made a version for Flash Lite yesterday.

Links to enhanced Flash Lite version:
ASL Finger Spelling SWF or ASL in new HTML window sized like a phone
Hint be sure to click on movie to set the focus and use up/down arrow for scrolling on a PC or scroll control on actual phones. Some functions depend on device features(e.g., 'Exit' or hard buttons for selections).

An example can be the kick start that gets creative juices flowing. What about m-learning flash cards? (Note the lowercase f in flash).

Effective use of the capabilities makes this media much better than paper-based flash cards. Check out the ASL spelling of the letter J or Z and the number 10in the example above. Consider what adding randomization and stack management algorithms could also do for flash card study aids. (See references to Siegel & Misselt's Corrective Feedback Paradigm here.)

By the way, if you're near Philadelphia you may want to check out Robert's upcoming presentation on Flash Lite at the Philly User group.

Finally, Download the latest Flash Lite and Flash (PDA format) examples from Robert's site [ZIP]
